Il problema dell'epistemologia circolare in Hegel. La filosofia speculativa in che modo "Kreis der Wissenschaft"

ABSTRACT The present research focuses on the concept of circular epistemology in Hegel’s thought through a comparison with one of the most significant interpretations of this topic, that of Tom Rockmore. The three main theses can be summarized as follows. (1) Hegel’s thought seeks to elaborate a nonfoundationalist epistemological model capable of giving up presupposed elements and an ultimate ground, without abandoning a radical foundation of knowledge. (2) Hegel aims to develop a concept of reason that stands as a rational texture between subject and object, where philosophical thinking – as a space of reasons – is conceived as a dimension in which all practices and discourses can be articulated. (3) In conclusion, Hegel does not intend to imprint an extrinsic conceptual structure on reality; rather he seeks to comprehend it in its intrinsic rationality, that is, through a thought of which reality itself is the expression. In a discussion Gallagher introduces about some brain imaging experiments designed to study brain areas activated when subjects enjoy their own first-person perspectives on some actions they are requested to engage in, or observe others engaging in such actions, or just imagine to engage in such actions. To make a long story short, the experimental design is criticised for neglecting to test another situation, namely that in which we imagine ourselves in the place of others. Why is focusing this form of social cognition so enlightening? Because it identifies a form of soci
